Hello all. I am a nursing student from the University of Nevada, Reno and
am working on a research paper for my theory class. I am to pose a question
of my own interest and, hopefully, recieve some helpful feedback. So, here
goes...
I did some research concerning relactation and have learned it is a very
rigorous and difficult process, yet can be accomplished if mom and baby are
eager to reestablish milk supply (The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, 1997).
I looked into ways to stimulate milk supply and came across two drugs,
domperidone and metoclopramide (The Ultimate Book of Breastfeeding Answers,
2000). Can anyone share some experiences with the use of either drug (i.e.
side effects, benefit of use)? If so, do these benefits outweigh the
negatives enough to promote their use? Any information would be useful as I
have searched the archives and still want more in depth information
Thanks for your time,
Lora
