Responding to Susan's psot:

We had a problem with a pharmacy doing this same thing in our area and they 
were even reimbursed by an insurance company for renting her a "hospital 
grade pump" for her NICU 26 weeker. They were reported and since then, have 
stopped renting or carrying Medela products completely.

It is a sad state of affairs when people have access to certified lactation 
support and choose not to use them or even try to work through a 
breastfeeding problem, but it is quite another to have "so called" lactation 
specialists jeopardize the credibility of our profession and those companies 
that support our efforts, in this way.

I'm hoping you can report this less than professional person to your local 
Medela representative so she might be able to track her source for pump in 
styles. In our area we are seeing rampant sharing of these pumps with no 
thought as to quality control, but hey, there's always formula if the pump 
doesn't work well enough, right?
