Hi Leah,
Several months ago I posted with permission regarding a mother who was in a
very similar situation. I'm so pleased to share that the mother was able to
get her baby back to the breast and is, as far as I know still nursing. The
baby was around a year old at the time he began nursing again.
This mother is such an inspiration! She worked diligently to protect her
milk supply; and with much patience and perseverance, was able to get her
baby nursing again. Hooray!
There is also a yahoo list on this subject; you should be able to find the
addy in the list archives. If you think the mother you are working with
would be interested in talking to another mother who has had a similar
experience, do let me know. I think the mother I know would be a wonderful
resource of information and encouragement.
Warmly,
Tallis M.
