Hello Corrine!

In my point of view she has very wise husband. There are no safety risks
with Xylitol during breastfeeding or pregnancy.
I have 3 kids and they have all used Xylitol and i have also used it myself
since it came out here, almost all my life, by choosing teeth friendly
products. My youngest one is 3y and 3ms old nursling and she has used
Xylitol gum in daycare ( yes, many daycares provide xylitol gum instead of
brushing teeth there cause that would just spread flu etc. bacteria around)
since she started it as 1 y and 3 months old. And i thought she was pretty
old for that as many start using Xylitol gum much earlier to prevent
cavities and otitis media. My older kids have also used Xylitol gum ( or
other Xylitol products), it is suggested here. None of them have cavities.
Using Xylitol gum did not affect breastfeeding anyway. We use it so that
kids/ adults chew gum 5-10 min after every meal or snack. I dont give
Xylitol gum after breastfeedings for my daughter because that would be too
often.
