A few days ago I posted about a news item that showed that moms who
breastfeed respond less to stressful situations, than those who bottle feed.

I have contacted the lead researcher, to ask about whether this study has
been published, and where. Her response is below.

Janice Reynolds

Dear Ms Reynolds,
I could point to 2 reviews that have already been published by our group on
this topic. They are fairly specialized reviews and you would need to check
whether they are suitable for your audience. The most recent and pertinent
review was published this year in the journal "Stress" (March 2005) volume
8(1):pp19-34 Tu MT, Lupien SJ, Walker C-D. 2005 Measuring stress responses
in postpartum mothers : perspectives from studies in human and animal
populations.
and another one was published in 2004: Walker C-D, Deschamps S, Proulx K,
Tu M., Salzman C, Woodside B, Lupien S, Gallo-Payet N, Richard D 2004
Mother to infant or infant to mother? Reciprocal regulation of stress
responsiveness in rodents and implications for humans. J Psychiatry &
Neuroscience 29(5):364-382
With respect to the study discussed in the last few days, we submitted it
to a scientific journal recently, but have already presented these results
to the scientific community in earlier meetings. I am not certain this
answers your query but I hope this is at least a bit helpful to you.
Best wishes
