Now wait just a darn minute here.  I remember very distinctly learning at a
recent conference (can't tell you who or when...sorry) that some level of
jaundice was normal and even healthy because of all the antioxidants in the
bilirubin.  When the bili gets too high that is when problems arise.
However, in a normal, healthy BF infant with a mom with a 'normal'
increasing milk supply, the extra bilirubin is not a problem and, if I
remember correctly, is even helpful in the long term.  So now someone is
going to freak out over a bit of extra bilirubin and take away that health
benefit (that is there for a reason!!) rather than optimize the
breastfeeding so that the bili stays within a reasonable and safe level???
