I have to say, I agree with Flossie on this, we argue that IBCLC is a
stand alone credential. The employer certainly do not treat it as one,
and typically we do not either. The IBCLC seems to have become a nice
"extra" in the job market. I am not sure what we can do, since it is
impractical to boycott employment...
Just as an aside, I am considering getting an add-on to my IBCLC- an
RN! I will make sure that they are listed in the order I received
them!
For those of you who do not know me, I have been with Lactnet for 10
years, in the last 5 I have mostly lurked. I am an LLLL, and IBCLC
(sort of, but that is a long story) mother of six, homeschool parent
and perpetual student. I only have time to write tonight as ALL of my
children are away. :(
