Hi everyone,

I've recently been asked to give a talk on breastfeeding to a number of
women from Ghana, Nigeria and the Philippines. These are not communities I
have a great deal of direct experience (or contact) with right now. I would
be very interested in hearing about any cultural beliefs and attitudes they
may hold regarding breastfeeding which would be unfamiliar to those of us in
the West so that I can better educate myself about my audience. This
particular group of women does not have easy access to established support
resources (professional or lay) and have been getting most of their
breastfeeding information and support from friends and acquaintances in
their communities and from my old copies of LLL's New Beginnings which are
apparently being passed around.  I consider it a real privilege to have the
chance to meet with these women and look forward to also learning from them
as they do from me!
