The Pump In Style is not appropriate for use by mothers of infants who
are not breastfeeding. The manufacturer recommends this pump ONLY for
use several times a day by mothers with breastfeeding babies, well
established milk supplies, and partial seperation only (during work
hours, etc). Moms with preterm infants need the best possible pumps, as
research has shown that initiating lactation can be more challenging for
them.

I've seen a few moms scrape by with it anyway, but it's not worth the
chance, especially when one considers that renting is probably cheaper.
