Hello everyone,

I wanted to post an update on the mom I have been helping. The baby gained
9 ounces in 7 days--so baby has gone from lowest weight of 4.17 pounds to 6.5
pounds overall. The doctor is still not content with this. Baby is now 2
months and will have another weight check today. I told mom that this is a
good weight gain overall, but the doctor's concerns of course are the age of the
baby and where baby should be at right now, especially if you look at the
birth weight of 5.3 pounds.

Mom also mentioned a drop in her supply. The one question I forgot to ask
initially, which is a standard one for me for an overall picture, especially
with weight gain, birth control. Mom started on the minipill at 4 weeks
postpartum--and I am sure she did not have a well established milk supply at this
time. We discussed how to work on her supply, and I suggested she use another
form of nonhormonal birth control.

Again, I want to thank everyone for their help. I will keep you all posted
on the progress of this dyad.

Regards,
Gloria Thai
