THe most interesting thing about this study is that the supplements were
cod liver oil, and the control group got corn oil. I would have liked
to see the control group get water filled capsules. Corn oil is full of
Omega 6 fatty acids, and might reduce the formation of DHA, or shift the
optimal balance of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids, so the study design
may have actually exaggerated the effects of the cod liver oil. There
was also no information given about exclusivity of breastfeeding.
