Heinz has a 280 page nutrition handbook attainable in pdf from their
website: http://www.heinz.com/jsp/index.jsp . I found the treatment of
breastfeeding to be excellent, promoting exclusive to 6 mos, encouraging
prolonged with no mention of extent, and discussing it's many biological
components and bonding. BM is subtly assumed to be the norm and superior
throughout their text. It begins on page 206, but read beyond the formula
and cow's milk to the complimentary foods paragraphs for even better
breastfeeding information. The only comment I found slightly distasteful in
another portion of the text was "because breastmilk lacks sufficient
vitamin D." There's just a better, more accurate way to put it, of course.
(OT -- one must chuckle at this: "Heinz Ketchup is a non-partisan
condiment ...")
