Snuggling the baby to mom's trunk, holding baby so close that baby's
chin is on the breast, and sliding baby so that the nipple touches above
the baby's upper lip will get the baby to open as wide as she can. This
is my favorite approach to asymmetrical latch, though there are many
others. The dent technique that someone posted on a few weeks ago works
wonders too! I ran out and tried it with several moms, and it was
"magic". Mom dents the breast with one finger where the baby's chin
will go, and snuggles the chin in the dent. Voila, instant asymmetrical
mouthful. (Whoever posted that, please let me know so I can give you
credit... I've been meaning to search the archives, and will do that if
I don't get an answer this way!)
