kathleen,

i just attended the art of breastfeeding conference in chapel hill last
week. dr. sandy zeskind spoke about the effects of breastfeeding and
prenatal SSRI exposure on newborn sleep and arousal regulation. (for those
of you unfamiliar with dr. zeskind, he is the director of neurodevelopmental
research, dept of pediatrics at carolinas medical center.) in a nutshell,
"infants exposed prenatally to SSRIs showed greater tremulousness, increased
startles, greater generalized motor activity, disrupted sleep state
architecture, and disrupted autonomic organization."

your zero to 60 comment sounded remarkably like something he said. after
hearing dr. zeskind speak and then reading your description of this baby, it
sounds like you are looking in the right direction.

i'm sorry i didn't get any contact information but if you contact mary rose
tully or mary overfield, i'm sure they can give you contact info.
