I am not a professional physician, but I have discovered something that may
be of interest to the Lactnet community. Please don't disregard this letter,
it is important that you read it to the end so you know why I am writing it.

I am the mother that has Poly Cystic Ovarian disease and that has insulin
resistance. I had difficulty conceiving and breastfeeding. Even when I
conceived with and without pergonal, my milk didn't come in and I had a really tough
time maintaining breastfeeding.

I have three daughters, two of which are beginning puberty. One of them got
breast buds, I had no idea what those were because I had never had them when I
went through puberty. Imagine my surprise when the pediatrician told me what
they were. My other daughter doesn't have breast buds either. I have a
strong feeling the lack of breast buds during breast development may have
something to do with the difficulties I had with lactation. My milk didn't come in
for a long time, I made very little milk and was unable to maintain
breastfeeding past the seventh month. I just didn't make enough milk.
I just thought this information might be of some use to this community.
Thanks for taking the time to read it.

Carrie Harrington
