I got a call today from a mom of a three month old who "wants to stop
breastfeeding" and we discussed lots of ideas. She is pumping for comfort (just
long enough to "get the rocks out of my breasts") but was still putting baby to
breast several times a day. Suggested a few things to her like cabbage, sage
tea, and yes, continuing to breastfeed a la minimal breastfeeding but wonder
if I missed something because I've been away from clinical situations for a
short while. She is worried because it took her sister in law almost two
months to "quit breastfeeding" and she doesn't want it to take that long.
She says she has researched it on the internet so is not interested in any
thing I offered to send her. I did at least get a phone number.
Suggestions?
