Being the cynical person that I am, I have to say that why most doctors support this pre-planned, unnatural method of getting babies out of their mothers probably has more to do with their reimbursement (which is higher for performing surgery) rather than their feeling that there is a case to be made for c-section.
As Nikki pointed out, there is no mention on the impact on the baby.  And even less thought of the impact on breastfeeding, not that considering doing it would be likely to appeal to women who have to work their child's delivery into their schedules rather than the other way around.  This says a lot about their priorities.
