According to the following website, Nestle's Milo in Singapore will be
fortified with Actigen E.
http://www.nutraingredients.com/news/news.asp?id=4974
"Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Nestle Singapore is to replace
its popular health food drink Milo with a fortified equivalent.
Milo with Actigen E is composed of a combination of vitamins and minerals and
is high in magnesium and calcium. According to Nestle Singapore, the new Milo
promotes the effective release of energy from the proteins, fats and
carbohydrates in food."
I believe Actigen E is something called Protein L (maybe the L stands for
lactoferrin????). So reread the article from Singapore about breastmilk put in
Milo. Hm..we'd call that foreshadowing in a novel. Actigen Ltd maker of
Actigen/Protein L is a company that constructs human antibodies(proteins). By the
way I think I already posted a number of years ago about Nestle owning
patents on lactoferrin. According to various patents on lactoferrin, it will be
used in health/sport drinks.
Nestle has the gene technology to make human lactoferrin and they are using
it. Guess this article is testing the waters. I don't think mothers are
putting their breastmilk in Milo. I think Nestle is putting human lactoferrin (a
recombinant form) in Milo. One has to applaud their creativity. I wouldn't
even think of this, if I hadn't read their patents.
