I saw Dr. Jay Gordons website information before I posted to Lact Net today.
The 10 drops to 1 ounce was for Citricidal which is a dilluted product
having grapefruit seed extract in it. I need to know for the 100% pure
grapefruit seed extract from the company by the name of "NOW" products. I
wanted to make very sure of this before recommending it for inside of a
baby's mouth. The baby is showing thrush symptoms and not the mother. But of
course both should be treated until baby's symtoms are completely gone and
then longer because of the resilliance of yeast. The mother has been using
Nystatin (?sp) and Gentian Violet (?sp). Any one who knows this information
please contact me off list as I am no mail at this time. My friend has the
health food store where the grapefruit seed extract was bought. I asked her
to call the company and she said that the company would for liability
reasons would most likely not recommend it orally for infants. My friend
seems to think 1 drop to a cup but that does not seem to be enough in my
opinion for it to be effective. Thanks in advance. I will let the list know
if the grapefruit seed extract is effective for this case and what the mom
does.
