Just catching up with back posts, but I thought that Dr. Greene's statement
sounded Exactly like the formula rep statement I have heard too many
times. It keeps formula on par with breastmilk. The insidious thing is that
it keeps substituting formula as "okay." Of course, the issue is not over
babies who can't in any way get breast milk, it's in the abuse of the
substitute by uninformed parents/health care providers. The end of the ad
campaign keeps society uninformed. It's the same as the tobacco issue, and
every other effort by one group of people to keep another group uninformed
for the benefit of the controller group. This can be applied to civil
rights, women's rights, spousal control, you name it. The pharmacutical
industry has incredible power it seems. So empowerment of mothers may not
be one of their goals.I am worried that the campaign is stillborn, but the
family hasn't been told yet. Judy
