Hello wise Lactnetters,

I'm just a novice here, but this thread has me extremely intrigued. I've
also been fortunate enough to see a sonogram performed by Dr. Hartmann's
team. I definitely saw milk coming down the duct and retreating again when
not used. The fat globules were clearly visible, and exceedingly mobile in
their travels.

But, that isn't where I thought saliva entered the breast. I feel certain
that I've read, somewhere, that Montgomery Glands, in addition to
lubricating the areola, are also receptors for saliva. Is there anyone who
knows this is factually incorrect, or could have a source that would support
that? As yet, I've found no documentation for that online, so I'm thinking
I've somehow confused facts.
