Interesting that it is the OB staff reacting in that way. The breast has
traditionally been a territorial "no man's land" as far as which
physician was "in charge" of problems in getting milk out of it and into
the baby. After all, it is the baby's immediate health we're talking
about, (though it is also the mother's long term health.)

What do the Ped staff MD's say? (though in light of the divided opinion
of the AAP on the ad campaign, there is slim hope their reaction will
help your supervisor in her meeting.)

As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "No one can make you feel inadequate
without  your permission." "Methinks they do protest too much" suggesting
to me the suspicion that successful breastfeeding was absent from some of
those obstetricians' families.
