Laura,
I had a gest diabetic mother express colostrum in her pregnancy and bring it
to the hospital with instructions that after blood sugars were tested she
first wanted to breastfeed and then if the sugars did not stabilize they were
to use her EBM.
I'd give your mother lots of encouragement and would recommend pre delivery
expressing.
