As I recall, there was one that said a baby gets 20% less through a
thin silicone shield that it would nursing directly>>>>>
I sent a post yesterday but haven't seen it yet discussing this. Many replies
have noted the older information regarding the "mexican hat" nipple shield
that cited this. Doesn't that show you how information is ingrained and
retained in our minds? The newer thin silicone shields don't interfere as
much, and are a good tool to use when a nipple shield is needed. Experiential
and evidence based practice teaches us that sometimes something works even
tho the books say it might not!
