Patty,
I wish I could give you her web site (Coach Smith are you out there?)
Just do an internet search for Linda J. Smith in Dayton Ohio. She is an
IBCLC (one of the first to be president and founder of ILCA I think)
Anyway, I bought it from ILCA. Its called
Coach's Notebook : Games and Strategies for Lactation Education.
Excellent one liners etc for use in games or presentations. Just make
sure to use references to her book. I found "the protein level in 1
ounce colostrum = the protein level of 16 ounces formula" reference on
page 32. It has really helped me with bedside breastfeeding education
and staff education in promoting even licking colostrum off the nipple
in those sleepy hours after the first feed. Especially on the LGA or
SGA infants or other infants on accuchecks. And it has helped reduce
supplementation for a poor feed. You know the providers that just
assume the blood sugar "couldnt come up after that feed." The
accuchecks prove it and pretty soon the providers will be reassured
watching an infant lick plenty of colostrum drops from a new mom that
the sugar will be fine on its recheck in 30 minutes.
But the book is filled with 172 pages of great facts for presentation.
I think the cost was $35.95 from ILCA.
By the way I have no financial interest in this book only emotional and
professional interest in promoting and supporting breastfeeding!!
Hope it helps,

using one line zingers to make a point. I will be giving a 2 hour BF
lecture to first year medical school students next week. I'm looking
for
spice.
