How about a disclaimer being attached to the bags. "In exchange for
advertising for CompanyXYZ, HospitalXYZ receives (fill in the blank of what
the company "gives" in payment.) This bag is given as advertisement and is
not an endorsement of the product." You would think hospitals would want a
disclaimer of some kind so when the baby has a serious reaction to the
product provided by the hospital it is not blamed on the hospital in a
courtroom. Of course, this is not likely to ever happen.

Whenever I want to remember the money connection to it all, I think of the
elevator billboard advertising McDonalds on the way to ICU to see my dad
after open heart surgery. Ah, yes, feed them McD's in the lobby and see them
upstairs in a few years.......But, of course, there is no conspiracy, just
unethical cooperation ....and lots of money. At least in the case of McD's
the choice mostly belongs to the person choosing to eat the stuff, as opposed
to the baby who is not given a choice.

Take care,
Pam MazzellaDiBosco, IBCLC
