I know -- I truly was hearing what you were saying. Venting some of my own
frustrations in general. The whole issue of mothers just wanting to give it
up for whatever reason -- or not starting at all -- the plethora of problems
that I see on an (almost) daily basis. If I had the time, I think I would
just go attend a bunch of LLL meetings just so I could see that yes,
breastfeeding DOES work, and here are some healthy, happy, mothers & babies
doing it!

This morning's frustration (besides the Peds chat list I'm on), was a mom
who had a C/Section at 1:30 this morning. When I asked her how breastfeeding
was going -- she hadn't done it yet (most of our moms bf in the recovery
room). This was at 8:00 -- 6 1/2 hours later. When I asked her why, she
said she had had some pain medication and she didn't want her baby to get the
slightest amount of contaminant through her breastmilk. She'd rather be safe
than sorry....so her baby was in the nursery being fed formula.

Sigh.

About that bookstore....
