I need advice and experience of others on a strange nipple growth. the
story. a primipara whose previous normal looking nipple gradually grew
"corrugated coral like looking, nipple tag like" protrusions at about 4
months gestation. she told no one. Recently gave birth and began
breastfeeding and moved to breastfeed one side only as she found the
nipple with the growth too painful. an astute midwife explored the situation
and discovered the anomaly. On day two the situation was examined by 2
doctors and the lady discharged with normal follow up with GP. She was able
to express milk from both breasts I wonder whether this fits into a nipple
cancer scenario and what should be done about it. For urgent examination by
someone knowledge in breast cancer? leave until the 6 week check? Ignore
altogether? get a surgeon involved?
What do you think? All comments and ideas appreciated.
thanks
Ruth
