Yes, and also differences among babies... I remember a mother who was
really grateful that our monthly meetings were held in mothers' homes
(ideally homes with couches and large rooms!), because her baby would
only nurse if both were lying down.

Another mother needed to come to meetings early to nurse lying down, and
then get up to attend the meeting going on in another room. Her baby was
very easily distracted.

In both cases, I thought the mothers were wise beyond their experience
in finding creative ways to meet their baby's needs at the same time as
their own sleep needs.

If it seems hard to envision re-arranging one's life around one's
child's nursing preferences this way, just think about the other things
we are happy to re-arrange for our little one, and how much better we
all grow in the process.
