I too smell a rat. Whenever a recommendation like this is given the
official stamp of approval, it creates the illusion that breastmilk is
deficient. Are there new recommendations about putting sunscreen on
newborns under 6 months or something??? If not, how would the AAP
recommend it? IMHO, I would think it far healthier to expose babies to a
little sunlight than give daily supplementation and slather them with
chemical laden sunscreens for 6 months. Sheesh....
