My pevious post was sent before I read other replies and I'd like to add a
couple of points; number one is that I always suggest bed sharing as normal
and instruct in safe use of same, as well as point out how baby tends to
gravitate to mom's face, on his side.  And if parents are totally against
bedsharing or unsure, of course the decision is theirs to make and that is
made clear by me.  I find swaddling for organizing a baby before feeds, if
needed, is very helpful as well as for calming some babies but I don't think
a tightly swaddled baby left in a crib for sleep is safe.
