Dear Lactnetters, I am trying to get the OB dept. here to stop making mummies of the babies when wrapping them. One arguement was that the babies are cold but being an OLD Nicu/postpartum nurse I reminded them that babies loose heat from their heads therefore thats why we put hats on after delivery. What I need is some info and or research showing need to wrap babies with their hands out of blanket so can give hunger cues, etc. I think it's cruel to fasten them down and so do some of the Peds. but need more ammo. Thanks in advance for all your help and wisdom.
