Jenny South asks for thoughts on the reproductive endocrinologist's comments
to her patient.  Here are mine:
I think it sounds like this doc has a working knowledge of BF endocrinology.
It is entirely plausible that breastfeeding played a role, by this line of
reasoning.
Presented in this context it looks a lot less like sacrificing BF on the
altar of ignorance.  We don't need to know whether Jenny's patient's periods
were normal or delayed, light, or absent, as long as Jenny and her patient
know it.
If this were my doctor I would be inclined to keep going back.

"Breast feeding does alter your hormones. Tubal motility is affected by
alterations in hormonal status---if your periods are delayed, lite, or
absent than most certainly your hormonal status is affected by your breast
feeding...if they are entirely normal menstrual cycles then the effect of
breast feeding is likely nominal."
