Regardless of tearing or stretching, the muscles in
the pelvic floor are loose after birth. Good old
fashioned KEGELS are a life saver. Any OB should know
this. My midwife had us practicing kegles during
pregnancy, stressed them in our childbirth prep
classes, and reminded me postpartum as well.
AND breastfeeding triggers oxytocin which HELPS the
uterus contract and return to its previous size. so I
would say breastfeeding is not the cause, it is part
of the cure.
