You might want to suggest to this woman that she ask her health care
provider about vaginal estrogen therapy, like vaginal Premarin inserts.
Many nursing mothers, as well as postmenopausal women, with low endogenous
estrogen can be helped with short courses of local therapy - particularily
with respect to dyspareunia. I am not so sure about the effects this could
have on her delayed healing secondary to her vaginal laceration, but will
look into it further and let you know if I find more information.
