My understanding is that it takes AT LEAST 20 mins of good nipple
stimulation to get contrax going.  Based on this, I don't see why she
wouldn't be able to hand express or pump enough to get herself
comfortable.  Another option might be for her to hand express in a hot
shower to help get the milk flowing a little to work out that lump.
