Hello everyone,

I posed this question last week but haven't received any response(s).
Meanwhile I have been looking for an answer in every resource I can put my
hands on, but can't find anything that even addresses it. Perhaps I should
briefly introduce myself. My name is Wendy McCoy. I am a LLLeader and Area
Administrator in Northern California. I have five children (4 breastfed
until natural weaning) and have been volunteering in the lactation field for
9 years or so. Should I say that I'm studying to sit *the* exam in July?
:-) Anyway, please take a moment to see if you have anything you could add
to my search for an answer for this mother. Even pointing me toward a
reliable resource would be very much appreciated. -- Warmly, Wendy McCoy

>>Having exhausted all my resources, I am turning to the 'experts' in the
field. Can anyone answer this question?

"I just got a call from a mom who has a 4month old baby and is going back to
work this monday. Her question is: Is it ok to *administer* chemotherapy and
breastfeed? She said she did not do it while pregnant. "

I assume the mother is a HCP who sets up patients for chemo treatments. Why
would she discontinue this practice while pregnant? Is there a risk of
contact?

Thank you in advance for you wisdom.

Wendy McCoy, ACL - LLL of NCA/HI
