This is clearly a violation of
the Code and BFHI. Can we contact all the baby friendly hospitals
and notify them of this problem. What about Canada. Is this station
broadcast in Canada as well?
  Naomi Bar-Yam

Naomi, I don't know if the station is broadcast here in Canada or not, not in my town for sure. Sadly though there is ONLY 1 baby friendly hospital in ALL of Canada. We are working to change that from our end, but it is a long haul with many challenges. Here a lot of the nurses and/or doctors believe that our hospital is "baby friendly" enough and why do we need to go through all the hassle and expense and training to become Baby Friendly. Unfortunately out hospital is NOT good enough, I saw a woman recently who was told by a nurse that her baby needed formula and there was no such thing as nipple confusion, mom and babe had been breastfeeding successfully up until that point, baby had already had "milk stools". That one bottle was the beginning of the end and by day 5 baby was fully on formula. I should mention here that I am not an LC at the hospital and don't know the details as to the involvement of one in that situation. We'll keep plugging away.....
