Hi everyone,

I have a rather pressing question - a 2 two-year old bf'ed girl (still
nursing) has been diagnosed with diabetes and has had a stroke. Her blood
sugar level was up to 500 at the time she had a stroke. She has lost her
sight (not known if permanent) but has become more responsive and is asking
to nurse. The hospital is supportive of bf'ing, but apparently nobody
really has any experience with bf'ing a diabetic child. Does anyone have
any info. about this? Can you point me to sources? I've checked Ruth
Lawrence and Riordan/Auerbach's books to no avail. I'm on digest, so if you
could respond to me directly at [log in to unmask] I would greatly
appreciate it.

Carrie Otterson, LLLL
