In my experience, copperhead bites are often not treated with antivenin.
They are almost always "sublethal" and you just work through the symptoms.
Of course, factors like the person's age, health, time to treatment, depth of
bite , etc., matter, too.    The best source of info I know of is the
Snakebite Information Line at Jacobi Medical Center---right next to the Bronx
Zoo. The ER number there (ask for the Snakebite Center) is 718-918-5000.
