Sorry, I don't know who to give credit for this, but I know for sure it was
on Lactnet. I was helping a mom with sore nipples, and two things were
noticed. One, bubble area in palate and a bit high, and two, chin receding
like older sis and dad. Watched baby and mom and noticed mom seemed to almost
aim nipple into that bubble area. Also, baby really eager and willing to
cooperate. Of course, did obvious explaining to mom to change support to aim
breast more down than up, etc. But then added, let the baby self attach, she
seems to know what to do and let's see if she really needs you to help her.
Wow, baby did it and mom had much less pain. Some pain, yes, since her
nipples were damaged in the first place, but much less. Within a couple of
days, mom is healed and no pain at all. First baby hurt for a month and now
she sees she was doing all the same things as the first. When I was helping
her, in the back of mind I was thinking Thank You Lactnet sure do hope this
works. Haha. Now, since it did, I thought I better really say thanks and
especially to the one who wrote of this in the first place.
