Elle,
Most standard neonatal texts should give you a guide to how much milk is
required for a newborn baby. I am taking my figures from "Textbook of
Neonatal Medicine" 3rd Edit. (2000) Lenene, M. et al. A term infants should
be fed 30mls/kg on Day 1, 60 mls/kg day 2, 90mls/kg Day 3, 120mls/kg day 4,
130mls/kg day 5, 140mls/kg day6 and 150/mls kg from day 7. This is only a
guide, the authors also say "healthy bottle fed infants will also 'know'
how much fluid they need and should be allowed to comsume milk when they
want it, to the volume that satisfies them" Hope this information helps

<Hi all,
I have tried checking thru the archives and looking thru our literature, =
but to no avail.
I have also asked around, but no one really has a concrete answer.
Is there, in our many available sources, a written recommendation =
regarding the amounts of
EBM (in the case where mom is only expressing) or the amount of ABM a =
newborn (first 2 weeks) should be getting? If this has been discussed, =
please enlighten me as to the correct keywords.>
