Since I received several direct posts on the subject I thought I'd add this
comment to the list...
I recommend reading "Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing" ( the newest
edition not the seventies version) for those going through the balancing act
of toddler nursing and the desire to conceive again.  It also explains in
detail about what to expect with the return of fertility -- it's not back to
your old normal cycles right away - and has an excellent chapter that weighs
the difficult decision of weaning to conceive.  (again no financial interest
on my part)
