Well I don't know about it being an urban legend.I can remember back in the
late 50s early 60s dropping Australian pennies into a bottle of Coke to
strip it back to its original shinny bronze colour.

God knows what it did to our stomaches if it could do that.

Talking about giving bottles of coke to babies.I grew up in a country town
in north-west New South Wales and often saw  children of Aboriginal descent
being given Coke in their bottles instead of milk.

Talk about teeth decay from sugar,also did this make them prone to getting
diabetes in later life due to their junk food diet instead of their normal
cultural diet.
Any opinions.
