My co-worker related a similar story to me regarding a mother with
whom she has been working. This mom has always had an oversupply
and has tried everything we could suggest and some we came up off
the top of our heads as a "Try this, who knows, it may just work."
This mom came close to quitting several times out of frustration.
She finally settled into a routine of pumping off about 3-4 ounces
every morning. Then the rest of the day baby kept up with the
supply. (Too bad we don't have a milk bank around here, but she did
find a use for it which I'm not at liberty to discuss.) At first
this seems to go against all that we usually suggest, but for this
mom it was a solution she can live with.
I like Rachel's diagnosis of insufficient baby syndrome!
