Having seen a lot of babies with colic and having 2 of my own, I can't really say colic occurs less in breatsfed babies but as we know breastfeeding itself is comforting. I also think in general breastfeeding parents are more attuned to their babies and less likely to be hesitant to immediately comfort them.
I believe someone once studied babies in traditional societies vs Western and found that although the babies in traditional societies initiated crying as often as Western babies their cries were responded to faster. Kathy D can you provide better details?
