You asked about women who get their menses back even though they are
exclusively breastfeeding - I did twice, both times at four months.  The
first time I blamed it on an ovarian tumor that I had removed.  But that
doesn't explain it happening again with my second child.  At the time that my
periods returned my children were exclusively breastfed (absolutely nothing
but breastmilk and only from mom) and NOT sleeping through the night (they
didn't do that for years!)
