If you mean well-controlled studies that document the "right" number of wet
nappies/diapers, stools etc., there aren't any. We all have our clinical
experience to go on, and most of us more or less agree, but in terms of
well-controlled studies, there just aren't any.

If you mean that you need a printed resource to back up your actions or
lack thereof, as well as the number of nappies/diapers/stools, signs of
dehydration, etc., for newborns, the best resource I know of is a 464-page
book, "Breastfeeding the Newborn." Of course, since this is my book, it
should be no surprise that I consider this the best resource. If you want
