I certainly agree that women should be more assertive in regard to
discrimination and that it is more likely that it is the meek or hesitant
about breastfeeding who gets asked to move.  Although, I do believe when we
blame the victim for the discrimination or harrassment we are making a major
blunder!  You alienate the very person who needs the encouragement and
support to learn to stand up for herself.

Laws are put in place to protect all people, not just the strong assertive
woman but also the meek and unsure.  The receptionist was in the wrong not
the mother.  This mother needs support not criticism for her supposed
inability to defend herself.  The point is no mother who is breastfeeding
should be a target of discrimination and particularly because she looks like
