I had a client in the recent past breastfeeding on 100 mg. of methadone.  Mother & baby did well. If the infant had shown signs of withdrawal while in the hospital, we had an additional order to start the babe on methadone as well but it was not required. It was cleared by the pediatrician & pharmacist as well as the mother doing her own computer search on the subject.  Dr. Hale's Medications & Breastfeeding conference lists more definitive information about mothers in methadone treatment & breastfeeding.
